The Mrocumiere bean is an heirloom bush bean variety from the Kenya region of Africa.  Plants are prolific growers reaching 45-60 cm (18-24") tall with a bushy habit that is approximately around 30-40 cm (12-16") wide.  Mrocumiere beans are kidney shaped with a brownish mauve color and lightly speckled. They are a great production bean for fresh eating.  Green beans average around 15 cm (6") long.  It takes about 55-60 days for green pods from sowing and 90 days for mature dry beans.

Sow bush beans 1 inch deep and 2 inches apart in rows 18 inches apart

Growing Instructions:

Beans Direct sow seeds after the last frost, when soil temperatures have reached at least 16°C (60°F). Select a location that receives full sun. Sow seeds 2.5-5cm (1-2”) deep, spaced 2.5-5.0cm (2-3”) apart in rows spaced 45-75cm (18-30”) apart. Keep soil evenly moist to promote germination. Seeds should sprout in 7-10 days.  Bush beans prefer well-drained soil that is fertile and has a pH between 6.0 and 7.5. Fertilize with a balanced fertilizer before planting and again after the first flowers appear. Bush beans can be harvested as snap beans when the pods are still tender and young. Harvest regularly to encourage more production. Bush beans typically reach maturity in 55-65 days for eating and 90 days for dry beans.
