Strike Bush Bean sets the standard for earliness.  It grows a sturdy bush plant between 30-45 cm (12-18”) tall and 36-45 cm (14-18”) wide.  The plant produces heavy yields of straight 12-14cm (5-5½ ") long, smooth, round, medium green beans that have an exceptional flavour. They are an excellent choice for home gardens.

Growing Instructions:

Direct sow seeds after the last frost, when soil temperatures have reached at least 16°C (60°F). Select a location that receives full sun. Sow seeds 2.5-5cm (1-2”) deep, spaced 8-15cm (3-6”) apart in rows spaced 45-75cm (18-30”) apart. Keep soil evenly moist to promote germination. Seeds should sprout in 7-10 days. Thin seedlings to 15-20cm (6-8”) apart when they are 5-10cm (2-4”) tall. Bush beans prefer well-drained soil that is fertile and has a pH between 6.0 and 7.5. Fertilize with a balanced fertilizer before planting and again after the first flowers appear. Bush beans can be harvested as snap beans when the pods are still tender and young. Harvest regularly to encourage more production. Bush beans typically reach maturity in 50-60 days.
