Black Hungarian pepper is a stunning and colorful pepper plant.  They are sturdy and erect plants that can grow between 61-90 cm (24-36") tall and 41 cm (16”) wide.  Slender elongated leaves are a dark emerald green.  Foliage is highlighted with prolific delicate dark purple flowers that develop into green peppers and eventually turn to a shiny black and finish to a mature glossy fire engine red.  Black Hungarian produces abundant yields of 10 cm (4”) peppers and closely resemble the shape and size of a Jalapeno pepper.  They are considered a mild pepper with a 2500 SHU rating.  Mild heat and great flavor.
