Long Thin Red Cayenne is one of the best known hot chili peppers.  It is a very productive plant that grows upright on a solid bush type habit and reaches about 45-66 cm (18-26") in height with a spread that reaches 40-45 cm (16-18”) wide. The plant produces high yields of thinly curved and straight emerald green peppers that mature into a wrinkled bright red fruit. Both green and red peppers are hot, although the red ones are going to be the hottest ones. Peppers average 10-15 cm (4-6") long, and 12 mm (½") wide at the shoulder. The thin skinned peppers are easily dried out on strings and processed into a powder when dry.  Caution should be exercised with these peppers.  (30,000-50,000 SHU)
