Green Pearl produces heavy, densely filled, dark green, double curled leaves on strong stalks. It has a milder flavor than its flat leaved cousins. This hardy biennial herb makes an attractive garnish and remains one of the most popular herbs for culinary use. Green Pearl’s slow bolting quality makes it ideal for forcing and summer production. Height at Maturity: 45-60 cm (18-24”). Spread at maturity: 30.0 cm (11.7”).
Growing Instructions:
Parsley can be grown from seeds or transplants. If starting from seeds, sow them 1cm (½”) deep and 5-7.5cm (2-3”) apart in rows spaced 30cm (12”) apart. Parsley prefers well-drained soil that is rich in organic matter and a soil pH between 6.0 and 7.0. Keep the soil moist but not waterlogged during the growing season. Parsley prefers consistent watering throughout the season. Fertilize with a balanced fertilizer every 4-6 weeks during the growing season.
Parsley leaves can be harvested as needed once the plant reaches at least 10cm (4”) tall. To encourage bushier growth, pinch off the tips of the stems as the plant grows.
