The Boldog Hungarian pepper originated from the towns of Boldog & Cece in Hungary.  They are also known as the Boldog Hungarian Spice, widely used for making paprika.  These sturdy plants grow between 45-61 cm (18-24") tall and 41cm (16”) wide.  Peppers are on average 10-15 cm (4-6”) and 2.5 cm (1”) wide at the shoulder.  They are smooth skinned and easy to dry. It is classed as a sweet pepper with just a ‘hint’ of heat (0 – 100 SHU). Peppers start out  green and turn a deep crimson red when mature.
